Description: The Tony Knowles Coastal Trail hugs the coastlines of Knik Arm and Cook Inlet from 2nd Ave downtown Anchorage 10+ miles South to Kincaid Park. This tour starts at Westchester Lagoon and ventures 9 miles South to Kincaid Park. The other section of the Coastal Trail is presented separately under "Coastal North." The trail is marked by mileposts every 1/2 mile. The trail becomes more remote as you travel South of Milepost 4. The trail skirts the Anchorage International Airport, between Mileposts 3 and 7, and low flying aircraft are frequently seen. There are steep grades on the approaches to Earthquake Park, Pt Woronzof, and Kincaid Park.

Connections: From the Southern Trailhead, paved paths adjacent to Raspberry Rd, Sand Lake Rd, and West Dimond Blvd lead to the Southern Trailhead of the Campbell Creek Greenbelt on West Dimond Blvd. The Tony Knowles Coastal Trail intersects with the Lanie Fleischer Chester Creek Trail at Westchester Lagoon.
